Job Description:

Context: In today’s fast-paced world, mental stability is crucial. Changes in individuals’ lives often lead to behavioral and lifestyle alterations, making it challenging to cope logically with circumstances. Psychosocial services play a vital role in reinforcing beneficiaries’ social and interpersonal skills, preventing them from falling into undesirable situations during crises.

Objectives: The project seeks to recruit full-time PSS counselors to offer consultations and personalized psychological services to clients. This involves identifying beneficiaries in need of psychosocial support, including those registered in the legal department, as mental and psychological health significantly impact case resolutions. Services encompass individual, group, and family therapy.

Responsibilities: Under the overall supervision of the Project Manager, the PSS Counselor will:

  • Implement the PSS component in targeted areas in coordination with the project manager.
  • Conduct PSS-related meetings and training for clients and volunteers.
  • Ensure compliance with WASSA policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Conduct beneficiary surveys and maintain records.
  • Schedule and conduct client consultations, assessments, and referrals.
  • Facilitate psychometric testing and long-term counseling plans.
  • Offer services to diverse age groups through individual and group counseling.
  • Maintain detailed client mental health histories and build trust-based relationships.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Project Manager.


Education and Certification:

  • Advanced University Degree in psychology
  • State license in counseling psychology
